Dale Crawford

Dale C.  Crawford, Age 84, Of Battle Creek, Died Friday, September 30, 2016, at Bronson Battle Creek. Dale was born on November 12, 1931, in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Leon and Viola (Slate) Crawford.  He graduated from Western State High School in Kalamazoo and then received his Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University in Education. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Dale was united in marriage to the former Claudia C. Zabbia who survives. He was a teacher at Lakeview Junior High School retiring after 25 years of service. He attended First Christian Church, enjoyed playing basketball and was an all-around good athlete in high school. Surviving are his children, Kim (Kelly) Crawford of Clarkston, MI, Robin Crawford of Chicago, IL, Rebecca (Steve) DeWane of Bellvedere, IL, Jeff Crawford of Baton Rouge, LA and Matt (Sheila) Crawford of Marshall, MI; 6 grandchildren; a brother, Gene (Gail) Crawford of Colorado. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with The Rev. Kingery Clingenpeel officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.
