Corrine “Dolly” Sanger, Age 89, Of Battle Creek, Heaven was singing “Hello Dolly” it’s so nice to have you where you belong on August 29, 2015. She was 89 years old. Dolly retired from the Battle Creek Shopper News where she worked until age 80 as their bookkeeper. Dolly and her husband Harold grew up in Saginaw, and moved to Battle Creek for work. At that time Dolly worked for Bill Knapp’s and Kellogg’s. She loved to play bingo, and for 64 years her husband Harold would do his best to find her a bingo in Battle Creek or where ever they traveled. Many probably remember Dolly coming in the bingo just in time to make the payout 100%, and then hearing a soft voice yell, BINGO. She was one lucky lady! Harold would also drive her to her favorite hot spots-auctions, garage sales and the casino. Dolly loved her family and friends, and enjoyed getting together to go bowling, play cards and go camping. Those who knew her also knew she worried about her family, and would not sleep until she knew they were safe. So, now we pray that as her life is over, and her work is done, that God’s Mercy may give her safe lodging, a holy rest, and peace at last. Dolly lost her husband Harold Sanger in 2012, her son Randy Sanger in 1992, and her son-in-law Kevin Smith in 2003. She had 7 brothers and sisters, and is survived by Connie (Don) Fortier, as well as 4 sisters-in-law: Mary Kay Jurek, Marilyn Jurek, Leona Jurek and Sandy Moore, one brother-in-law Bernard Guiette, and their families. Harold and Dolly are survived by 3 children: Ted (Barb) Sanger, Kelly Smith and Toni (Don) Williams; 8 grandchildren and their families. Plus, her dog “Shaka”, the best caregiver she could have ever asked for. A special thank you for the care given by Joan Wentworth and Oaklawn Hospice, who cared for both of our parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Oaklawn Hospice. Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Arrangements by the Richard A.
