Cora E. Beebe, age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015. She was born August 23, 1922 in Walkerville, Michigan the daughter of Charles and Estella (Nichols) Howard. Cora moved with her family to Battle Creek in 1925 and grew up in Wattles Park. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1941 and attended Kellogg Community College. On June 21, 1941 she married Warren M. Beebe and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Harold and Larry Beebe and one brother, Don Howard. Cora is survived by her son: Charles (Beverly) Beebe; six grandchildren: Mike Nesbitt, Monica Beebe, Mark Beebe, Dan Johns, Doug Johns and Michelle Williamson; seven great grandchildren: Sarah, Evan, Madeline, Brennan, Skylar, Kyle and Derek; two brothers: Calvin and Clarence “Bud” Howard; one sister, Dora Gould; and several nieces and nephews. Cora spent most of her life as a homemaker and was active in her son’s school as P.T.A. President. She had worked at Harper Creek Junior High School and also as a clerk for Carl’s T.V. She was a former member of the Ceresco Baptist Church, Emmett Street Missionary Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years and ABW President and was currently a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and a member of the XYZ group. Cora enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, sewing and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Metzger of Lakeview Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time and interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
