Colleen Proffitt

Colleen Proffitt, Age 85, Of Battle Creek, Died Monday, September 26, 2016, at Evergreen Senior Care. Colleen was born on February 26, 1931, in Corbin, KY, the daughter of Boyd and Nellie (Hubbard) Fuson. She was united in marriage to Billy W. Proffitt in 1948. He preceded her in death in 2013. Colleen was employed with the Kellogg Company for 2 years and then at Nottke’s Bowling Alley in the Childcare. She was a former member of Faith Baptist Church and was involved with several functions at the church. She enjoyed going for walks every day, watching the Detroit Tigers, cross-stitch and word puzzles. Surviving are her sons, Billy (Marilyn) Proffitt and Dennis Proffitt both of Battle Creek; a granddaughter, Shannon Proffitt; sisters, Cleda Smock of Cincinnati, OH and Glenda Lickliter of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by a sister, GeorgeAnn West and a brother, Richard “Junior” Wright both of Kentucky. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 4 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. www.henryfuneralhome.org
