Clinton Bolton

September 23, 1941 — June 22, 2014

Clinton Bolton, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday June 22, 2014.  He became a disciple of Jesus at the age of 14 and never lost sight of his calling to
live for Him.  He was born to Wm. and Mildred Bolton on September 23, 1941 in Battle Creek Michigan.
He graduated from Athens High School, received his Bachelor and Master’s Degrees from Michigan State and was a lifetime student.  The most important book that he had was his Bible.  He taught it in numerous Bible Studies, was a Gideon and loved to distribute the Word of God.
He taught High School in Cassopolis and Ithaca, at the American University of Beirut he taught Farm Mechanization, served his country in Cyprus with the Peace Corps from ’60-’62, was Peace Corps director in Sierra Leone West Africa for 3 years, dairy farmed in Leroy Township for 18 years, was supervisor for Leroy Township for 3 years and most recently owned and operated Bolton’s Ornamental Grass Farms.  Mr. Bolton was an agriculturalist, with a goal of helping farmers around the world improve their lives.  His loving teacher Jesus provided him opportunities in more than 22 countries to work with farmers and volunteers.
He leaves behind a faithful wife, Arlene (Parlin) Bolton, of nearly 50 years and 2 children, Lena J. Gardner of East Leroy and Jonathon C. Bolton of Battle Creek and his wife Tonya.  He also leaves 4 precious grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Jana and Jakob Gardner of East Leroy and Caden Molak and Tenley Bolton of Battle Creek.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at North Athens Baptist Church with interment to follow at Leroy Congregational Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday evening. Memorial donations may be given to Gideons International.
