Clarence W. Squires, Age 90, Of Battle Creek, Died Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Bronson at Home Hospice. Clarence was born on January 17, 1925, in Battle Creek, the son of Clarence H. and Jessie (Heckman) Squires. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Lakeview High School in 1943. On January 22, 1949, he was united in marriage to the former Bonnie J. McPharlin who survives. He was a veteran serving in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Clarence worked for Eaton Manufacturing as a machine operator for 33 years retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Moose Lodge in Marshall, member of the Eaton 25 year Club and the American Legion Post #298. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and playing baseball. He enjoyed all sports, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan . Surviving are daughters, B. Patricia Squires and Michelle K. (Alan) Egnatuk of Battle Creek; a son, Michael M. Squires of Battle Creek; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle Moore of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by a brother Gene Squires, an infant brother, Wilber Eugene; a sister, Jessie White. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Rev.
