Clarence Green

October 15, 1929 — November 26, 2015

Clarence W. Green, 86, of Rush County formerly of Battle Creek, MI passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his home in Carthage. Clarence was born on October 15, 1929 in Marshall, MI to the late Charles E. and Mabel R. (Palmer) Green. Clarence married Frances June Green, his wife of 50 wonderful years and mother of their children in 1955 and she preceded him in death in 2005. He later married Connie Bitner on March 22, 2009 and she survives. Clarence enlisted in the US Navy in 1947 and served 24 years retiring in 1971. He served in Vietnam, also on the USS Arneb AK 56 in Greenland, the USS Grackle AM 513 minesweeper and Fleet Tanker USS Pawcatuck AO 108 during the Cuban Missile Crisis as well as many other Assignments. He was a member of the Morristown American legion #102. Clarence retired from Hi-Lex in Battle, Creek MI.
Survivors include his wife Connie of Carthage, 2 sons, Ed and Craig Green of Battle Creek, MI, 1 adopted son, Phillip Green at home in Carthage, 4 daughters, Carol and husband Keith Parsons, Teresa Moran, Tina Green and Denise Green all of Battle Creek, MI, a brother, Tom Green and wife Judy also of Battle Creek, MI, 1 sister, Bea Wintersteen of Battle Creek, MI, a sister in law, Marge Green of Livingston, TN, 8 grandchildren, Kyle and Corey Parsons, Trent and McKayla Moran, Myles and Braulio Green, Jessica and Samantha Crupe and 2 great grandchildren Erin and Jaxson Crupe. In addition to his parents and first wife, Clarence was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and Wayne Green, brother in law Leslie Wintersteen and 2 sisters, Agnes and Phyllis Wintersteen. Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital Avenue SW, Battle Creek, MI. Pastor Robert Muirhead will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 4-8 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Visitation will also take place at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 4-8 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in MI. Burial will full Military Honors will take place at 2 PM Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Arlington Christian Church.
