Clarence R. Baldwin, age 89, of Battle Creek passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born April 6, 1927 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Harold and Veronica (Naperolaski) Baldwin. Clarence served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had been a member of American Legion Post #298 and V.F.W. Post #8715. For over 30 years he worked as a butcher for Felpausch Grocery Stores. A fan of Detroit Tigers Baseball, Detroit Lions Football and Michigan Football, Clarence also loved watching western movies. On September 8, 1947 Clarence was married to Gladys (Rheinfrank) Baldwin who preceded him in death on October 28, 1997. He was also preceded by his son: James “Joe” Baldwin, daughter: Jan Baldwin and his parents. Clarence is survived by five wonderful grandchildren: Michael Baldwin, Scott Trayer, Sabrina (Mikel) Roberts, Shannon (John) Ayres and Steve Grable; nine great-grandchildren: Cy Baldwin, Mandisa Grable, Hailey (Ryan) Austin, Kegan Grable, Stormy Johnson, Seth Grable, Mikel Roberts, Aria Trayer and Wade Roberts; and one great-great-grandson: Owen Austin. Graveside services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend, please meet in the assembly area prior to the service. Arrangements by the Richard A.
