Chloris E. Cooley, age 79, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on August 13, 2018. She was born on February 12, 1939 in Marshall, MI., the daughter of Denzel and Marjorie (Whitcomb) Easterday. Chloris was a graduate of Marshall High School in 1957. She previously lived in Battle Creek, Ft. Lauderdale, FL., and Knoxville, TN. She was a 1964 graduate of Wrights Beauty Academy. Chloris previously worked as a cosmetology instructor, bartender and executive housekeeper. She enjoyed painting, writing and reading books in her spare time. Chloris was preceded in death by her son; Shawn Green in 2000 and grandson; Staff Sgt. Joshua Throckmorton in 2011. She is survived by her children; Brian Green of Southfield, MI., Tina (Paul) Buschke of Cape Coral, FL., Denise (Chris) Benjamin of Knoxville, TN. Sisters; Gay Royalty of Battle Creek, Sherry (John) Holt of Battle Creek, brother; Larry (Dixie) Easterday of Marshall, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where a memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. following the service at Clara’s on the River, all are invited.
