Charley F. Williams, age 95, of Battle Creek, passed away on November 2, 2021 at his residence. He was born on June 14, 1926 in Battle Creek, the son of Harvey and Dorothy (Payne) Williams. Charley was previously employed by AB Stove Company, Morgan Drive-Away, Sears and Roebuck, Mayflower Trucking, and later retiring from Ironworker Local #340. Charley proudly served from 1944 to 1946 in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Charley enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of a band that would play at local nursing homes. He also enjoyed building wooden toys, welding, traveling, and spending time with his family. Charley was married to Luella M. (Pittman) Williams, she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents, brother; James R. Williams, sister; Virginia L. Babas, and grandsons; Izaak and Tony Williams. Surviving are his children; Thurman (Gloria) Williams of Dowling, MI., Douglas (Helen) Williams and David (Susan) Williams, both of Battle Creek, sister; Mary (Harold) Rhoades of Battle Creek, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 8, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Battle Creek First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Tanner Griffin officiating. Following the service, interment with military honors will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Battle Creek First Church of the Nazarene.
