Charles Peet

Charles R. Peet, Age 64, Of Battle Creek, Died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Spectrum Health- Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with his family by his side. Charles was born on July 11, 1950, in Jackson, MI, the son of Charles M. and Joyce A. (Gray) Peet. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Harper Creek High School in 1968.  He worked as a carpenter/ millwright for Carpenter’s Local 525, retiring in 2009. In 1970 he was united in marriage to the former Lois R. Wilhelms, who survives. He enjoyed sprint car races, firearms, golfing,  boating, camping, fishing,  but most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren. Surviving are children, Edward C. (Leah) Peet, Amy(Peet) Boulanger, and Louis C. (Amy) Peet all of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Taylor, Ty, Grace, Hannah, Tucker and Josey; a sister, Deborah McKinney, a niece, and two nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February, 20, 2015, at Battle Creek Friends Church with The Rev. Kelly Hadlich officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A Private inurnment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
