Charles Osborn

Charles V. Osborn, age 77, of Battle Creek, passed away on January 19, 2019 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born on July 29, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Thomas and Rosalie (Miller) Osborn. Charles graduated in 1959 from Toledo Central Catholic High School, then going on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Arts History from St. Procopius College. He was previously employed by Trans America in Princeton, IL. and Battle Creek, Ohio Casualty in Toledo, OH., and Accident Fund in Lansing, MI. Charles was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and a former Scout Master. Charles was united in marriage on January 20, 1968 to Diana L. Efthim, she preceded him in death on July 20, 2005 and a brother; Thomas Osborn in 2015. Surviving are his children, Aaron (Becky) Osborn, Peter Osborn, Daniel (Marlene) Osborn, Matthew ( Tricia) Osborn, Laura (Brian) Sherrill, and Rebecca (Joseph) Edwards all of Battle Creek, brother; Richard (Rene) Osborn of Lansing, MI., sisters; Elizabeth Pack of Cincinnati, OH., Rosalie Osborn of Toledo, OH., thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services with a Reciting of the Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, Fr. John Fleckenstein, celebrant. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools.
