Charles J. Kazmar, age 94, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Glen Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born April 10, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois the son of Charles John and Stella (Augustyniak) Kaczmarski. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and was honorably discharged on March 4, 1949, with the rank of sergeant. He moved to Battle Creek in 1961 and worked in the paper and packaging industry throughout his life. Charles was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He bought and sold automotive sales literature and owners manuals as a hobby. On August 18, 1951, he was married to Mary E. (O’Brien) Kazmar in Chicago. Mary preceded him in death on June 15, 2003. He was also preceded by his parents, son Lawrence “Larry” Kazmar and brother Robert Kaczmarski. Charles is survived by his two children: Charles (Bonnie) Kazmar of Marshall and Barbara Kazmar of Battle Creek; four grandchildren: Justin Kazmar, Nikki Kazmar, C. Tyler Lewis and Hunter (Kelsie) Lewis; three great-grandchildren: Chase Kazmar, Ren and Layne Lewis; sister-in-law: Christine Kaczmarski; niece Leslie (Kevin) Linn and nephew Paul Kaczmarski. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. www.henryfuneralhome.org
