Catherine Matko

Catherine M. Matko age 89, of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away March 10, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born in Galion, Ohio on April 22, 1927, the daughter of Vincent and Marian (Lupica) Chinni.  Catherine graduated from Galion High School in Ohio.  She was united in marriage in 1955 to Theodore Matko.  Catherine lived from 1962 to 1995 in Battle Creek, Newark, Ohio until 2004, and then residing in Columbus, Ohio.  She was employed by the Sanford Security Service, and then Visiting Nurse Services in their billing department, until her retirement in 1989.  She was an avid bowler, stamp collector, bridge player and volunteered for the Leila Hospital Auxiliary.  Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; Vincent and Marian Chinni, husband; Theodore Matko, brothers; Sam and Vincent Chinni, and a great granddaughter; Arianna Booth.  She is survived by her daughter; Kathy (David) Fredo of Goodyear, Arizona, son; Theodore (Susan) Matko of Hillsdale, Michigan, five grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.  Visitation will be held 6-8 pm, Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.  Funeral Services are scheduled 10:00 am, Monday, March 13, 2017 at the funeral Home, with Fr.
