Carroll A. “CJ”  Jensen, Age 79, Of Battle Creek, Died October 16, 2014. Carroll was born on March 14, 1935, in Three Rivers, MI, the son of Oliver and Hazel (Rasmussen) Jensen. He had been an area resident since 1961. Carroll was a graduate of Marcellus High School then attended Western Michigan University where he did his undergraduate studies before receiving his Master’s Degree in Education.  He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He taught in Hastings for two years, and then came to Battle Creek where he taught for the Lakeview School District for over 30 years. Carroll was a golf coach and won many state championships and was named National Coach of the Year. He was a 45 year member of Westlake Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, sailing, traveling and camping at national parks. Surviving is a daughter, Christine (Jim) Karslake of Webster Groves, MO; grandchildren, Elizabeth and James Karslake; a sister, Joyce (Willard) Robinson of Boston, MA, and a brother, Dr. Bruce Jensen of Bangor, ME. He was preceded in death by a son, Jim Jensen and a sister, Deanna Hogarth. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2104, at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m., until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 20014, at Westlake Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Kate Johnston officiating.
