Carol Swafford

Carol Jean Swafford, age 80 of Battle Creek, died Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Pine River Health Care Center in St. Louis, Michigan. She was born August 6, 1941, in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Chauncey and Madeline (Lombardi) Burghdorf. Carol graduated from Marshall High School and worked at Post Cereal until her retirement. In May of 1966 she was married to Donald Swafford who preceded her in death on August 21, 2017. Carol was also preceded by her parents and two brothers: William and Larry Burghdorf. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Eishen of Battle Creek; two grandchildren: Colten (Elizabeth) Eishen and Grace Eishen; a brother Robert (Karen) Burghdorf and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 4 to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 6, 2021, at the funeral home with interment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
