Carol Hickman

Carol F. Hickman, age 73 of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at her home. She was born March 13, 1939 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Raymond L. and Phyllis M. (Howard) Penn. Carol is survived by five children: Mary Lee (Andy) Norris of Baldwin City, Kansas, Jerry Hickman of Augusta, Chris (Sue) Hickman of Battle Creek, Ellen M. Hickman of Lenexa, Kansas and Karen Secord of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren: Ian, Tori and Desmond, Emily, Jessica, Austin and Lucas. Two sisters: Andrea (David) Stanley and Marilyn Penn both of Battle Creek; three nieces, her good neighbors: Becky, Brian and Breanna Vinyard; and her dog: Bubba. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She retired from the Battle Creek V.A. Hospital where she had worked for over twenty years, and she loved to take pictures at family gatherings and anywhere else she went. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Augusta Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
