Caitlyn Renee Jackson, age 12, of Battle Creek passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital from complications of treatments for Leukemia of which she overcame twice. Caitlyn’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Bronson Pediatric Hem/Onc Clinic Doctors and Nurses, and the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and BMT Team for the exceptional care they gave to Caitlyn during her 3 ½ year battle. Caitlyn was born June 9, 2001 in Asheville, North Carolina and moved to Battle Creek in 2007. She was a sixth grader at Lakeview Middle School who loved going to the Battle Creek Bombers baseball games. Caitlyn is survived by her parents, Melinda and Jeff Jackson; one sister, Makenna; three brothers, her twin Christopher, John and Nicholas (Shanea) Jackson; niece, Ella Jackson; and her dog Molly all of Battle Creek; grandmother, Bonnie Bishop of Maryville, TN and two uncles: Curtis (Janet) Bishop of Cleveland, TN and Roger (Deana) Bishop of Maryville, TN. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Kenneth Bishop, grandparents: Daniel and Ellen Jackson and one uncle, Daniel Jackson Jr. A memorial service to celebrate Caitlyn’s life will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Wesleyan Church, 14425 South Helmer Road, Battle Creek.
