Bruce James “Jim” Barry, Age 71, Of Battle Creek, Passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015. Jim was born on March 10, 1944, in Jackson, MI, the son of James B. and Estelle J. (Vinscavich) Barry. Jim was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School where he was a standout in baseball and basketball. He played softball for years, winning a few national titles with the Eaton Local 196 team. He was a lifelong fan of baseball, specifically his beloved New York Yankees. Jim was a millwright and worked at Eaton’s in Battle Creek until it closed in the early 80’s. He then worked at Post until his retirement in 2004. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen “Kitty” Barry in 2008. They were married in 1965. He is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Ricke) of Sorrento, FL; sons, Mickey (Darcy) of Battle Creek, Mark (Anne) of Homewood, IL and Kevin also from Battle Creek; 5 grandchildren, Diana Easey, Christopher Bolton, Scott Parsons, Jack Barry and Grace Barry. He also has 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Perry officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
