Brenda Sue Mitchell

Died on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Bronson Battle Creek. Brenda was born on April 22, 1949, in Battle Creek, the daughter of William T. and Patricia A.(Gibson) Douglas. She had been a lifelong resident of the area. 

Surviving are her 3 daughters, Bambee Kortz (Scott Hull), Kristal(Jon) Smith and Tiffany (Layne) McDaniel; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Jake Smith, Brianna VanValkenberg, Gage Kanthack, Haley Kanthack, Dakota McDaniel, Aspen Kortz and Ridge Kortz; 3 great grandchildren, Liam, Cole and Cassia. Also surviving are her siblings, Bill (Leslie) Douglas, Vicky (Ron) Mitchell, Dawn (Gary) Kinney, Mark Douglas (Shirley Wood) and Lori (John) James; a brother-in-law, Norman Lane. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Patricia Douglas and her younger sister, Patti Jo Lane. A celebration of Brenda’s life will be attended by family only.  

Brenda was a tremendous force of strength. Her independence gave her many opportunities to live and travel throughout the United States as well as Spain. She enjoyed long drives and meeting new people everywhere she went, continually having a fascinating story to tell along the way! The love for her family was always deep within her heart and she will be forever missed and cherished by those of us who knew her best and loved her most.
