She began playing the accordion when she was only three years old and continued to play in a trio with her sisters, Sally and Carolyn, for some time after that. She was involved in 4-H for many years showing her horse and displaying her sewing projects at the county fair. She was most proud of a full-length, lined coat she made. She was awarded a trip to Washington DC for one of her many projects in 4-H. Other highlights of her life were her ability to knit, crochet and tat. She enjoyed bowling. She enjoyed her high school Spanish trip to Mexico. She loved Sudoku puzzles, bingo and trips to the casino. She also loved and cared for her dogs Murphy, Goober, Gizmo and Howie; a cat named Cuddles and her horses Deborah Jane and Sir Playboy Maugray. Taft, sisters; Sally (Lou) Bishop Carolyn Heath, sons; Dorn Taft and Andrew Hubbert, grandsons; Chase and Christian Hubbert, all off Battle Creek, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
