Bonnie Delano

Bonnie J. DeLano, age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away on March 29, 2022.  She was born on January 23, 1929 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Henry and Madge (Teeters) Steinbacher.  Bonnie graduated from St. Philip Catholic Central High School in 1947 and was a lifelong area resident.  She was a homemaker and loving mother while raising her six children at home.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Bonnie was an avid golfer into her 80’s and was on the Cedar Creek Golf League.  She  also enjoyed sewing, volunteering for the elections, was an animal lover and especially liked spending time with her family.  She was united in marriage on April 5, 1952 to William DeLano, he preceded her in death in 2015.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, daughters; Debra Powers and Michelle Hammond, sister; Clara Misner, and brothers; Henry and Robert Steinbacher.  She is survived by her children; Heidi DeLano-Jones of Mason, MI., Mary (Michael) Enos of Bradenton, FL., Joseph DeLano of Plymouth, MI., Daniel DeLano of Northville, MI., brother; Thomas Steinbacher of Howell, MI.,  eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass, Fr. Christopher Ankley, celebrant.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Humane Society of South Central Michigan, or the Calhoun County Animal Shelter.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
