Beverly May Fields

Beverly May Fields, 85, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away on October 9, 2024. Beverly was born December 8, 1938, in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of Jean Nelson and Rudolph Nelson (step father) and Calvin Cooksey (father). Beverly loved her husband and family with all her heart! She loved music and had the most beautiful voice when she sang. She enjoyed planting flowers and relaxing near her backyard pond. She always kept her family organized and taught her children to respect others and love all people without judgment. She will always be remembered for her warm smile, her laugh, and the kindest heart. Beverly & Ward were married on August 22, 1953, in Battle Creek, MI. They recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. Beverly is survived by her husband Ward J. Fields, her daughters Loretta Sue Trewhella (Jim) and Melanie May Plunkett (Rick), her siblings William Cooksey and Arlene Simmons. Six grandchildren Jessi Salyer, Tara Castrejon (Este), Shawna Plunkett, Brooke Hardee (Chris), Krista Trewhella, and Blake Fields. And eleven great-grandchildren Collin, Addison, Lily May, Liam, Gentry, Ireland, Miles, Hunter, Rylynn, Uriah, and Grady. Beverly’s niece, Beverly Cooksey, was her namesake. She was proceeded in death by her son William Ward Fields, Jean Nelson, Rudolph Nelson, Calvin Cooksey, Zubie Fields, and Isaac Fields. A special thanks to Centrica Care (Hospice), nurse Brandy, and all the nurses who helped care for her! We are truly grateful. Donations are appreciated in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Association, in honor of Beverly. Funeral service scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
