Beulah Sneed

Beulah J. Sneed, age 100, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, after taken ill at home where she had been cared for by her grandchildren, Vicki and Chuck.  She was born at home on December 31, 1916 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Claude C. Hawk and Nellie (Hill) Hawk.  She was united in marriage on October 26, 1935 in Battle Creek to Garland S. Sneed.  Beulah was previously employed as a clerk and cashier for the S.S. Kresge Dime Store, Grand Leader, Ben Franklin and W.T. Grant Store in the Columbia Plaza.  Beulah retired with her husband, Garland in Arizona where they owned and operated Vogue Cleaners for seventeen years in Prescott.  She loved to crochet, baking, work crossword puzzles and her dog, Trudy.  She was preceded in death by her husband; Garland Sneed, parents; Claude and Nellie (Hill) Hawk, sons; Ronnie Sneed, Gordan Sneed, Jerry Sneed, daughter; Yvonne Opala, brothers; Richard Hawk, Lester Hawk, Robert Hawk, and great granddaughter; Nicole McMillan.  Beulah is survived by two daughters; Dona (Dennis) Wagner of Yuma, Arizona, Paulette Gunning of Battle Creek, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with funeral services immediately following, Robert Heine officiating.  Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Oaklawn Hospice Care.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
