Bettylou B. Hutchings, Age 84, Of Battle Creek, Died Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Legacy at The Oaks. Bettylou was born on November 16, 1927, in Bellevue, MI, the daughter of Carl A. and Effie I. (Dibble) Birdzell.  She was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School.  On July 30, 1973, in Rolla, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Daniel E. Hutchings, Sr., who preceded her in death. She lived in Battle Creek area until 1987 and then joined her husband in Missouri after her retirement. Bettylou returned to Battle Creek in 2007, due to failing health.  She was employed as a clerk with Grand Trunk Western Railroad and retired after 30 years of service. Bettylou was a member of the Transportation Communications Union. She enjoyed gardening, her cats  and being with her family. Surviving are sons, Ronald Trumbull, Sr. and Randall (Romona) Trumbull both of Battle Creek; step-sons, Dennis (Debbie) Hutchings of Bellevue and Dan (Suze) Hutchings, Jr. of Freeport, MI; 2 grandchildren, Amber (Rob) McCarty and Ronald (Courtney) Trumbull II and 2 great grandchildren; special friends, Rich and Jane Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Randall Trumbull, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2012, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Morris F. Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
