Betty Patterson

Betty J. Patterson, 94, of Battle Creek, passed away from natural causes at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility on April 16, 2024.

She was born in Coldwater, MI, in 1929 and moved to Battle Creek at an early age with her family.

Betty married Harold (Pat) Patterson in 1947 and was widowed in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jesse (Chester) and Lena Bignell, and sisters Doris and Beatrice. Betty is survived by her daughter, Romona and her husband, Randy Trumbull.

In her earlier years she enjoyed fishing, hunting for mushrooms, and playing cards with family and friends. She loved jigsaw puzzles and an occasional visit to the casino, whether it be local or in Las Vegas.  She visited much of the United States during family driving/camping vacations, as well as taking trips to Hawaii, Thailand and Romania.

She was a volunteer for Emmett Rescue Squad and regularly gave blood. Betty worked at several businesses in Battle Creek including L.W. Robinsons, V.C. Squires, Knapp’s commissary and Ben Franklin.

Service will be held at 4 pm, April 23^rd at Henry Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before. There will be no graveside service.
