Betty Lingg

October 27, 1920 — December 28, 2016

Betty Winn Lingg Battle Creek Betty Winn Lingg, age 96, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, surrounded by family at her home at Lakeview Assisted Living in Battle Creek. Betty Lou was born October 27, 1920 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Edna and James Winn. She attended Lakeview High School, where she met the love of her life, Louis Lingg. They both graduated in 1939. They married in 1941 and they both loved traveling and dancing. Her home was filled with photo albums of their various trips in the United States and abroad. Even more photo albums were filled with photos of beloved family and friends. Betty was an avid, if sometimes off kilter, photographer. There are many photos where her subjects’ heads were not quite in the frame. She also loved to draw and paint and was an avid reader. Betty Lingg is survived by her 4 children: Marsha (Frank) Easterbrook, Janice Kurtz, David (Deanna) Lingg and Jane (Demos) Kotsanos; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and her brother James Osborn (Janet). Louis preceded her in death in April, 2014. She missed him desperately and they are now dancing together to their favorite Big Band music. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Hess. Her family would like to thank the staff at Lakeview Assisted Living for providing her with such safe and loving care. Also a huge and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff of Great Lakes Hospice. Please make memorial donations to Great Lakes Hospice Foundation: 900 Cooper Street, Jackson, Michigan 49202. www.greatlakeshospicefoundation.org/donate/memorials/. A private interment of Betty and Louis will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. www.henryfuneralhome.org
