Betty Coy

Betty Jean Coy, age 89 of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at The Manor of Battle Creek. She was born July 30, 1923 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Charles and Cora (VanDee) Pallett. Betty had worked at Post Cereal, Transamerica Insurance; Gallagher’s Laundry and was the bookkeeper for Coy Trucking for many years. She was an avid bowler, loved to play bingo and go to the casino, as well as read, knit and crochets, and was a member of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 299 in Battle Creek. On April 20, 1946 she was married to Clair H. Coy and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1999. Surviving are three children: Penny Ellis of Battle Creek, Dan (Doris) Teller of Hawaii and Clair (Beverlen) Coy of Battle Creek; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Hicks Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
