Betty Ann Ball, Age 80, Of Battle Creek, Died Wednesday, October 12, 2011, in Battle Creek. Betty was born on July 18, 1931, in Weld County, Colorado, the daughter of Jake and Ida (Rau) Krieger. She was a 1949 graduate of Kersey High School in Colorado, and then attended Parks School of Business. On December 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Earl R. Ball who survives. Betty was employed by the U.S. Government until 1966. She was a homemaker until 1978, and then she worked as a secretary for the First Baptist Church until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of the Westlake Presbyterian Church and actively volunteered at the soup kitchen, Salvation Army, the food pantry and at Battle Creek Health System. She loved reading and crossword puzzles. She is survived by a daughter, Beth Ann (David) Clark of Hudsonville, MI and two sisters, Donna Straight of Johnstown, CO, and Mary Lou Jakel of Greeley, Colorado. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Krieger. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Westlake Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Alice McDowell officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
