Bethel Jane Adamov, age 104, passed away on August 14, 2024, at home in Spring, Texas. She was born on May 11, 1920 in Ann Arbor. She was the daughter of Fletcher and Florence (Geiger) Boynton. Bethel was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1938. Bethel and Louis J. Adamov were united in marriage at the First Congregational Church in 1943 and celebrated 72 wonderful years together. Surviving are her daughters, Suzanne Pifer of Spring, TX, and Kathy (Jeff) Samson of Sanibel, FL; grandchildren: Tami (Todd) Shawver, Tina Pifer, Tim Pifer and Malia Samson. Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Ashlyn Shawver, Jordan (Katelyn) Shawver, Gavin Bass, Gabriella Pifer, Gigi Pifer and Andreas Pifer; great-great granddaughters Georgia and Annie Shawver; Many nephews and nieces.She was employed by Kellogg’s in their Traffic Department; but Bethel really preferred and thrived as a home maker. Bethel loved spending time with her family and friends and her rescue dog, Teddy. Bethel was never bored, and had several interests and hobbies including: knitting, sewing, baking, reading, crafting for bizarres, coloring on her iPad, playing cards and puzzles. She devoted, many loving hours to knitting baby caps for the local hospitals. Bethel enjoyed traveling to Northern Michigan in the Summer, Florida and Hawaii. She was a member of Saint Elias Orthodox Church where she served on the board and the sisterhood. Bethel was a lifelong member of Eastern Star. She served as president of the Lakeview PTA and was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hats Society. At the age of 100 she was presented the Key to the City by the Mayor of Battle Creek, Mark A. Behnke. Visitation will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2024, followed by a Panikhida at 6:30 pm at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:00 am on August 26, 2024, at Saint Elias Church, 5066 B. Dr S, Battle Creek, MI. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bethel’s memory may be made to the Humane Society, the American Cancer Society, or Saint Elias Orthodox Church, Battle Creek.
