Beatrice P. (Irish-Hursley) Snyder, Beatrice P. (Irish-Hursley) Snyder 77, of Battle Creek passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. Bea was born on November 27, 1934 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Charles and Mildred (Ewing) Irish-Iden. As a lifelong resident of Battle Creek; Bea was a proud 1952 graduate of Lakeview High School. “Wings beneath her feet” was written in her yearbook which expressed her love for roller-skating, in those days she could float across a rink. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, enjoyed her Christian Singles activities, having her hair done by Fran every Friday morning and of course her birds and squirrels. Immediate family members that preceded Bea’s death were John Jr. Irish, Alice and Ben Wood, Charles “Bud” Irish, Wilma and (Arnold) McClish and granddaughter Debbie Decowski. Bea was married to Edward B. Hursley on October 24, 1953 and they had six children; Edward C. Hursley of Tekonsha, Gail (Roger) Kevern of Battle Creek, Arthur Hursley (deceased 1989), Larry (Lisa) Hursley of Grandville, Annette (Jeff) Altena of Hudsonville and Phillip Hursley (deceased 1984) she has 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her second husband was Jack B. Snyder, step-children are Bonnie Scott, Keith (Bobbie) Snyder and Tim (Carol) Snyder; sister-in-law Marilyn Irish, special niece Cheryl Vincoli and many other nieces, nephews and good neighbors. Richard A. Henry Funeral Home will host Bea’s service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 with Pastor Bruce Kintigh officiating. Family and friends may meet with the family at noon.
