Barry L. Noora, age 67, of Ceresco, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Oaklawn Hospital. He was born August 29, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia the son of Donald L. and Peggy A. (Purdy) Smith. Barry was a 1971 graduate of Galesburg High School and a member of the Hall of Fame for both wrestling and football. He was the manager of the Kitchen Shop in Battle Creek for many years and retired as the Regional Manager after more than 30 years of service. Barry was well known for his caricature drawings and was still drawing while in the hospital. He never met a stranger, just a new friend. Barry loved life at Lee Lake and turkey hunting, was a member of Battle Creek Friends Church and the Mayors Car Club, and most recently attended Crossroads Church in Marshall. He was an assistant coach for the Climax-Scotts wrestling team and a supporter of Harper Creek athletics. On February 11, 1984 he was married to Cindi (Pallett) who survives. Also surviving are three sons: Tony (Julie) Noora of Mattawan, Michael (Shana) Noora of Schoolcraft and Christopher (Torey) Noora of Allendale; twelve grandchildren: Skylar, Nolan, Toby, Samuel, Jack, Ellie, Zoe, Isaac, Luke, Titus, Emery and Zara; his sister: Linda (Mick) TerBerg of Portage; brother: Marcy (Loretta) Noora of Galesburg; sister-in-law: Jerri Smith of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews. Barry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jim Smith. A private family memorial service will be held and a public gathering to celebrate Barry’s life will be held in Summer of 2021.
