Barbara Ann Turner, 80, of Battle Creek, peacefully joined her heavenly Father on December 29, 2018 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, MI. She was born on June 9, 1938 in Saginaw, MI daughter of Robert and Frances Tenney. She graduated from Saint James High School in 1956. She received her BA for teaching from Aquinas College and then her masters from Western Michigan University. She was united in marriage on June 11, 1966 to Tommy P. Turner in Battle Creek, MI. She taught classes for 40 years at various Battle Creek schools, including St. Joseph, Wattles Park Elementary, and Beadle Lake Elementary. She attended St. Joseph and St. Philip Catholic churches faithfully. She loved golf and was avid player on leagues in the area. She, Tom and daughters spent 29 years, as members of Saugatuck Yacht Club, boating and visiting many ports up and down Lake Michigan, including many trips to Mackinac Island and Chicago. She also loved to travel and took many trips with her husband around the U.S. in their RV and in the last 8 years spent their winters in Florida golfing and enjoying life. She is survived by her husband, Tommy P. Turner of Battle Creek, daughters, Laura (Nathan) Gallaher of Nashville, TN, and Sara (Curt) Tamminga of Ada, MI, grandchildren, Brooke, Bailee and Grant Gallaher, Matthew, Megan, Madison Tamminga, Melissa Palmer, Eric Turner, Cassie Flaws, Darren Turner, great grandchildren, Liam and Nolan Palmer, Madelynn and Ethan Turner, stepsons, Kim (Holly) Turner of Palmetto, FL, Brad Turner of Dover, FL, sister, Roberta Dinauer of Florida, nieces, Sue Pike, Karen Hofer, and Nancy Henderson. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Riverside Golf Club and Banquet Center.
