Barbara I. Patterer, Age 72, Of Battle Creek, Died Tuesday, August 14. 2012, in Battle Creek. Barabara was born on March 11, 1940, in Tupperville, Ontario, the daughter of Fred and Lila (Harvey) Grondin. She had been an area resident since 1956. She was married to Philip R. Patterer who preceded her in death on May 7, 2010. She attended Wright Beauty Academy and then worked for Kresge and as a candy striper and a hairstylist. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and was involved with the ladies group at the church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, golf and going to lunch with her friends. Surviving are children, Robert (Anne Thomas) Patterer, Sarah Sakowicz and Amy (David) Drew; grandchildren, Jared Sakowicz, Sydney Sakowicz and Madeline Drew; nieces, Mario Fazio of California, Kathy Fish, Theresa Lambert, Mary Patterer and Tina Patterer; a nephew, Peter Patterer. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012, at St. Jerome Catholic Church with The Rev. Mathew Manalel officiating.
