Barbara Kinney

Barbara Elizabeth Kinney, Age 63, Of Battle Creek, Died May 17, 2013, at Bronson Battle Creek. Barbara was born on December 30, 1949, in Mt. Clemens, MI, the daughter of Frederick and Harriet (Horn) Behnke. She had resided in Utica, MI, before coming to Battle Creek. She was a 1968 graduate of Utica High School and attended Kellogg Community College. On June 14, 1997, she was united in marriage to Melvin Kinney who survives. She had been employed with Rice’s Shoes, The Federal Center and Vision Services in Battle Creek. Barbara was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and The Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting. Surviving are step-children, Jennifer Kinney of Indiana and Matthew Kinney of Coldwater, MI; godson, Jonathan Palazzolo;7 step grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren; brother, Frederick W. Behnke III and sisters, Sandra Palazzolo of Washington, MI, and Mary Koenig of Battle Creek. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Battle Creek. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. www.henryfuneralhome.org
