Barbara Downs

Barbara Jeanne Downs, Age 82, Of Battle Creek, Passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Barbara was born November 29, 1932, the daughter of Carl W. and Maebelle (Strole) Harmon. Barbara graduated from W.K. Kellogg in Hickory Corners. She worked for J.C. Penneys and Federal Life and Casualty Company before joining the John terAvest Agency, Where she worked for thirty years retiring in 1988. Barbara married Bob Downs in 1956, he survives along with son, Roy (Ruth) Downs, a daughter, Kim (Mark) Osborn both of Battle Creek and Sally Truken of Forest Lake, Minnesota. Also the loves of her life 14 grandchildren and 21great grandchildren; a sister, Beverly (John) Goddard and a brother, Jerry (Mary Jo) Harmon. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Harmon, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
