Passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Reflections Memory Care in Battle Creek. She has resided at Lakeview Assisted Living and then Reflections Memory Care in Battle Creek, MI., since November 2012. She was born March 14, 1926 to Charles Alonzo and Nola Merne (Wakeland) Tweed in Keithsburg, Illinois. She came to Battle Creek, MI, when she married Carman Paul Potter on March 14, 1946. They started out as Pen Pals while Carmen was in the service (Army) and after his tour of duty was over in February 1946, they were married the following month. They were married for 46 years. Before she was married, she worked part time for the U.S. Postal Service and part time for Mckees Button Factory in Keithsburg, IL. After her children married and left home, she worked 12 years in the cafeteria at Lakeview High School in Battle Creek retiring in 1980. She enjoyed square dancing, camping, oil painting, yarn crafts and sewing until she finally lost her eyesight in the late 1980’s. Preceding her in death was her husband, Carman Paul Potter on April 23, 1992; a son, Allan Paul Potter on November 12, 2008; her father on April 17, 1982 , her mother on April 17, 1993 and a brother on April 15, 1988. She is survived her daughter, Cheryl Lynn (David) Capman of Fair Play, SC; daughter-in-law, Dianne Potter of Lawton, MI; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Audrey will be laid to rest at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek, MI., next to her husband. Visitation will be held Friday, April 2, 2021, from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A private graveside service will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
