Arthur A. Wank age 89, of Athens, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center. Arthur was born on June 6, 1927 in Athens, Michigan the son of William & Alta (Kline) Wank. He was a lifelong resident of the Athens community and graduated from Athens High School in 1945. Arthur was united in marriage to Betty Sunday on June 10, 1950 in Athens. Arthur was part owner and help build the Brown Jug Inn, and was employed as a store clerk for the Post Cereal Company for thirty six years. He loved music in which he taught himself to play the piano, carpentry and was a real handy man. Arthur was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Battle Creek. Arthur loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers; John, Warren, Raymond, Carl and Jim Wank; two sisters; Mary Mitchell and Gladys Mahnke. Surviving are his wife of sixty six years; Betty Wank of Athens, daughter; Dawn ( Mark) Klacking of Battle Creek, son; Douglas ( Shirley) Wank of Athens, three brothers; Willard Wank of Battle Creek, Richard (Joyce) Wank of Richland, Melvin( Sue) Wank of Battle Creek, sister; Erma Akers of Battle Creek; three grandchildren; Timothy (Angela) Klacking, Guy (Cristi) Voss, Deb Spooner, Eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, three special nieces; Julaine, Jan and Jodie. Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Dr. Daniel Martineau officiating.
