Arthur H. Hausman, 84, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully Thursday March 31, 2011 at The Oaks at Northpointe Woods.  He was born on September 22, 1926 in Carroll, Iowa to Peter and Margaret (Potthoff) Hausman. Art served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Virginia Rouse on September 20, 1947, she survives.  Art was employed at Hannahs Cement Products from 1946 to 1984 and Consumers Concrete Products from 1984 until he retired in 1989. He is survived by his wife Virginia,  sons, Larry (Kathy) Hausman, of Battle Creek, Mike (Liz) Hausman, of Novi, MI; daughters, Karla Rice, of  Augusta, and Karen (Scott) Stanton, of Battle Creek, seven grandchildren, John Hausman, Lori Hausman, David Stanton, Zachary Stanton, Lexi Rice, Tyler Rice, and Ryan Hausman, seven great grandchildren, a brother, Andy Hausman, of New River, AZ; sisters, Dorothy Irlmeier, of Santa Paula, CA; Sylvia McCormic, of Schurdan, IA; Hilda Schutte, of Carroll, IA; Sally Strickrod, of Carroll, IA; and Norma Jean Schmidt, of Danville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret Hausman, brothers, Eugene and Clarence Hausman, a sister, Millie Grethen, and a son David Hausman on May 31, 1977. Art was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post #265. He was a former member of the Elks, Eagles, and United Commercial Travelers. Art enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing cards, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Sunday April 3, 2011 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where a Rosary will recited 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Rev. Robert F. Creagan VF officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation.
