Arleta R. Witzki, age 73, of East Leroy, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born September 30, 1943 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Leslie H. and Velma E. (Stout) Brown. Arleta was a 1961 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and attended Kellogg Community College. She had worked at State Farm Insurance Company, Peoples Saving and Loan Company, was an underwriter for 20th Century Guardian Life and worked in accounting for Hill Piston Auto Parts. On June 6, 1965, Arleta was married to Merle F. Witzki at Birchwood United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Merle; son, Shawn M. Witzki of Sunnyvale, California; daughter, Michelle L. (Garrett) Tooman of Battle Creek; two grandchildren, Gavin B. and Brynley N. Tooman; three nieces, Cindy (Rick) Teachey, Marcia (John) Adkins and Cheryl Knapp all of Kentucky. Arleta was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Patrick S. Brown. She enjoyed stamping, visits to the casino, drives and dines with the Corvette Club and playing dice. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and especially enjoyed the comraderie of her three special friends, Kris Smith, Carly Lofgren, and Janice Kirkham. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
