Ardith Pease

Ardith N. Pease, 87 of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born May 2, 1924 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Oliver A. and Florence Mildred (Kilpatrick) Hammond. Ardith was a 1944 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and had been an elevator operator at Transamerica, Comerica and Michigan buildings, retiring in 1994. She had been a member of the Church of the Brethren in Orchard Park for many years. Surviving are her children: Lester Mark (Karen) Pease of Cambridge, Ontario, Lynn D. (Don) Hayes of Battle Creek and Jim K. (Julie) Pease of Battle Creek; one grandson: Jason (Renee) Pease and two great-grandchildren: Olivia and Owen Pease; seven step-grandchildren: Tammy (Joe) Malatta, Donna Yezic, Karen (Darryl) Brown, Albert Vickery, Jr, Jason Wilkerson, Troy (Ashley) Wilkerson and Ian Wilkerson. Ardith was preceded in death by her parents and one step-granddaughter: JoHanna Wilkerson. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. this evening. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
