Antoine “Tony” Joseph Hudon Jr., age 91, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025 at his residence with his family at his bedside. He was born on May 1, 1933 in Battle Creek, the son of Antoine Hudon Sr. and Helen (Jevnem) Hudon. Tony graduated in 1951 from St. Philip Catholic High School. He served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War in which he was stationed in Germany. He then served for several years in the Air Force Reserve followed by the Michigan Air National Guard from which he retired as a staff sergeant in 1968. Tony was employed by the Kellogg Company, retiring in 1990 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed camping with his family, fishing with his two brothers, listening to country music (especially Hank Williams Sr.), reading and watching old Westerns, weekend trips to Ludington, MI. with Sally, watching the neighborhood activities from his living room window and laughing while watching his favorite TV show MASH. In 1958, Tony married Mary “Molly” McGuire, the mother of his children. She preceded him in death in 2011. After their divorce in 1978, he married Sally Straubel in 1981. She preceded him in death in 2017. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Jerome and Richard Hudon, sister, Julia Mascho, daughter-in-law Vicki Hudon, stepson, Eric Straubel, infant son, Tony Jerome Hudon who died in 1962, and his cat companion Jimmy Buffett. He is survived by his sons; Michael (Lori) Hudon of Otsego, MI., Richard Hudon of Dowling, MI., daughter, Mary “Mickie” Hudon of Dayton, OH., sisters; Helen Treanor of Navarre, FL., Yvonne (David) Alcorn of Battle Creek, two granddaughters, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family gives special thanks to Tony’s favorite caregivers Amy, Carol and Vena from Visiting Angels of Southwest Michigan and to Gentiva Hospice for their in-home assistance. In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service with military honors will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
