Anna W. Martin, age 95, of Battle Creek and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Brookdale Battle Creek. She was born July 30, 1920 in Ballymena, Ireland the daughter of John and Sadie (Stokes) Wilson. Ann came to Philadelphia with her parents in 1923 at the age of 3 and lived there until her marriage to Robert Martin on November 10, 1945. She worked at Lion Store in Toledo for many years and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Toledo; attended Westlake Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek, enjoyed playing bridge and was active in several bridge clubs, liked to travel and go to dinner with her friends. Two things Ann was known for were her applesauce and chocolate chip cookies. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Martin, her parents, brother John Wilson Jr., sister Margaret Catherwood and brother-in-law Scott Catherwood. She is survived by her two daughters: Judy Bock of Lambertville, Michigan and Pat (Tom) Lipps of Battle Creek; grandchildren: Jay Bialecki, Andrea (Ryan) Heiferman and Stephanie (Adam) Erhard; and great-grandchildren: Aubree and Camryn Erhard, Luca Heiferman, Nadia Rohr, Jack and Lauren Bialecki. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 428 N Erie St, Toledo, OH 43604 (419-243-4214) with a luncheon to follow in the Ladies Parlor.
