Alverna Head

Alverna "Jerry" (Seivert) Head, age 86, of Sarasota Florida and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away August 20, 2015 at her residence.  She was born October 25, 1925 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Dewey and Laurena (Voss) Seivert. She was married for 58 years to Herbert W. Head Jr. who preceded her in death in 2010. Alverna and her husband both retired from General Motors then moved to Sarasota to make their residence. Alverna was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed dancing and the several schnauzer dogs they raised.  Surviving is her sister: Beverly (Jack) Smith; brother: Dennis (Linda) Seivert both of Battle Creek and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Wilma Seivert, Phyllis Neubert, Arlene Swaney and Betty Marsh, and a brother George Seivert. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Muirhead officiating.
