Albert Edward Ainslie, 75, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011. He was born August 11, 1936 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Isadore and Maxine (Durphy) Ainslie. Al served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, serving from February of 1954 to October of 1957. Following his time in the service, Al worked at the Post Division of General Foods for 27 years, retiring on February 1, 1993. He was an avid bowler, member of the Moose Lodge and Post Athletic Association, and enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening. He also liked to travel and enjoyed reading, computers and puzzles. On November 28, 1980 he was married to Nina (Camburn), who survives. Also surviving are three children: JoAnn Cornell and Linda “Lia” (Vince) Miller both of Austin, TX, and Phillip Ainslie of Battle Creek; two step-children: Michael (Laura) Crockatt of Battle Creek and Julie (Jeff) Marcus of Grand Haven; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Ainslie of Benton, IL; sister, Dorothy Kellogg of San Antonio, TX and a special nephew, Larry (Sandie) Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Betty Potter and Bertha Palmer. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
