Aileen J. Wade, age 86, of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday October 7, 2015 at the Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. She was born April 21, 1929 in Petersburg, Indiana the daughter of John L. and Anna M. (Chamness) Wheatley and graduated from Petersburg High School. On August 1, 1946 she was married to Jack H. Wade in Champaign, Illinois. She retired from Post Cereals after 27 years of service and enjoyed playing the organ, reading and garage sales. After retirement they moved to Florida and later to Blairsville, Georgia. They enjoyed traveling, taking several cruises with friends and also many trips with a Senior Travel Club in Georgia. In 2003 they moved back to Battle Creek. Aileen was preceded in death by her husband on January 1, 2014; her parents, one brother: Donald Wheatley and two sisters: Nancy Wheatley and Frances Ellis. Surviving are her son: Michael Wade of California; sister: Joan Gray of Oakland City, IN; sister-in-law: Joan Stringer of Battle Creek and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. www.henryfuneralhome.org
