Pamela Allen

Pamela Marie Allen, age 74, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022 at her home with family by her side.  She was born on April 1, 1947 in Gary, IN., the daughter of Steven and Elia (Bartolomei) Chicos.  Pam graduated from Andrean High School in 1965.  She graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Western Michigan University in 1969 and completed her internship in Muskegon. Pam was previously employed for Dr. Lancaster and Dr. Yantelli for seven years, and later worked at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek as a Medical Technologist for 23 years, retiring in 2003.  Pam was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Jerome’s Women’s League, taught CCD at St. Jerome, and was a Stephen Minister at St. Joseph.  She was generous with her kindness, love, and humor.  Pam enjoyed knitting, crewel embroidery, cross stitch, and ceramics. There was nothing Pam loved more than sharing food, stories, and laughs around a full dining table.

She was united in marriage on September 5, 1970 to Michael Allen, he preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, and a son, Michael Q. Allen.  She is survived by her daughter Megan (Eric) McLearon of Manistee, MI., sister; Debra Kotas of Evergreen, CO., and several cousins.  Memorial Mass has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with inurnment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in memory of Pam may be given to Battle Creek Catholic Schools or the Ronald McDonald House.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
