Darwin Ferguson

Darwin L.  Ferguson, Age 79, Of Battle Creek, Died Thursday, July 10, 2015, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Darwin was born on January 26, 1936, in Battle Creek, the son of George  C. and Bernice (Niecewander) Ferguson. He had been a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate from Battle Creek Central High School. He had been employed at the Kellogg Company as a machinist for 36 years retiring in 1991. He married the former Marguerite H. Crane who preceded him in death in 2010.  Darwin was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, arts, playing cards and had a large Lionel train collection. Surviving are his children, Gary (Christine) Ferguson, Jeffrey (Debbie) Ferguson, Thomas Ferguson and Melissa (Trey) Harbour; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Keith (Carol) Ferguson, Jerry (Katie) Ferguson and Daryl (Cheri) Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Ferguson and a sister, Beulah Weeks. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
